This Lake Tahoe proposal photography session with Rico and his fiancé was equal parts romantic, emotional, and adventurous. Rico had carefully planned a surprise proposal aboard the MS Dixie II, a scenic paddlewheel cruise that glides across the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe with panoramic mountain views.

Before the proposal, Rico invited Focus Video on board to discreetly document their date. We operated in full stealth mode, blending in with other passengers and quietly capturing candid moments of them enjoying dinner, laughing together, and soaking in the views. The goal was to preserve the story as it naturally unfolded, without tipping off what was about to happen.

As the sun began to lower over the lake, Rico led his partner to a quiet spot on the deck. In one heartfelt moment, he dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. The surprise, emotion, and pure joy on her face made this proposal incredibly special to witness and photograph. When she said yes, the entire energy of the evening shifted into celebration.

After the proposal, we took advantage of the golden hour light for a relaxed couples session on the deck. The warm sunset, shimmering water, and mountain silhouettes created a breathtaking backdrop for their first photos as an engaged couple.
