Scott and Sylvia’s almond blossom engagement session in Woodland, California was the perfect way to begin their wedding journey with us. With their April wedding right around the corner, we wanted to spend some time together before the big day, and there’s no better place in Northern California for spring engagement photos than the almond orchards just outside Sacramento.

Woodland’s almond blossoms create a stunning natural backdrop each year, and timing their engagement session during peak bloom gave us soft white petals, golden light, and rows of trees that seem to stretch on forever. The orchard was filled with fresh spring air and that unmistakable glow that makes engagement photography in California so magical.

As wedding photographers and videographers, we always encourage an engagement session before the wedding. It gives us a chance to connect, understand how our couples interact, and help them feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. By the time April arrives, Scott and Sylvia will already feel relaxed and confident, which makes a huge difference on the wedding day.

From the moment we started shooting, their chemistry was effortless. They laughed easily, walked hand in hand down the blossom-covered paths, and embraced beneath the arching almond trees. The combination of soft floral tones and their natural affection created timeless, romantic images that truly reflect who they are.

One of our favorite moments was watching them pause between poses, forehead to forehead, smiling like they were the only two people in the orchard. Those unscripted moments are what make engagement photography so meaningful.
