This Folsom Lake engagement photography session with Alex and Franz was centered around connection, family, and celebrating the beginning of their next chapter together. With their upcoming wedding in October 2026, they wanted photos that felt natural, intimate, and true to who they are as a couple and as a family.

One of their main requests was to capture the beauty of the lake and surrounding landscape without the session feeling overly mountain focused. Folsom Lake offered the perfect balance, providing open shoreline, soft hills, and peaceful water views that created a timeless and relaxed setting.

We began the session with portraits of Alex and Franz together, focusing on gentle movement and simple prompts that allowed their connection to shine. From quiet moments holding hands to playful laughter and tender kisses, their love for each other felt effortless in front of the camera.

After capturing couples portraits, we brought their children into the session for family photos. The kids did an amazing job and were full of personality, which added so much life and joy to the gallery. Once their portraits were finished, they immediately kicked off their shoes and started playing in the lake, splashing and laughing as the sun began to dip lower in the sky.
